Is McGregor Returning to the Octagon in the UFC White House?
The UFC White House Event is scheduled to take place next year, near United States Independence Day; the exact date for the fight cards has yet to be confirmed. President Trump has announced the historic UFC White House Event in July 2025. The UFC’s CEO, Dana White, has confirmed the event after meeting with the Trump Administration in September 2025.
However, former champion Conor McGregor seeks the spotlight and is confident of being a part of this historical event. He said, “I’m ecstatic. The Mac is back, and what better event than to grace the White House lawn for a straightener? What I do best. I’m very, very excited. Very eager. Very motivated. Bring it on, baby.”
This event sparks hope for the former UFC champion of his return to Ocatgon. During the interview, he said, “I’m very happy that it’s June. It was on in July, now it’s a month earlier. Even better! Bring it to April, why not? Let’s celebrate the birthday early. I celebrate my birthday months in advance.”
The former two-division champion has not fought a single fight in over four years due to a leg injury in his fight trilogy with Dustin Poirier. Following a toe injury ahead of a scheduled match with Michael Chandler, keep him out of action for a significant time. Moreover, McGregor has also rejoined the anti-doping program of the UFC to show his enthusiasm for sports and interest in the historical event. The program requires a minimum of six months of testing before taking part in the competition.
The CEO, Dana White, has also hinted about McGregor’s seriousness with the White House’s event. He also stated that there is no plan for McGregor’s booking for any matchups before February 2026.
To prove his enthusiasm about fighting again is legitimate, McGregor even re-entered the UFC’s anti-doping program, which requires athletes to undergo at least six months of testing before being allowed to compete.
UFC CEO Dana White has continuously hinted that he believes McGregor is serious about fighting on the White House card, although he’s stated publicly that he doesn’t plan on booking any matchups until at least February 2026. The former Champion is not hinted at for any opponent yet, but Chandler’s interest shows he has some unfinished business with McGregor, as they never got a chance to fight earlier.
