UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones clears on being the Main Event at UFC White House, by revealing he wouldn’t complain if he didn’t get the headline spot. And the UFC Bantamweight Champ, Merab “The Machine” Dvalishvili, thinks He Deserves it More!
The Former UFC Heavyweight Champion and GOAT fighter, Jon Jones, has been dreaming of getting a spot in the UFC White House Fight Card. He has tried almost anything, even pleaded with Dana White for a spot. However, UFC CEO Dana White remains hesitant about making it a reality. Dana has said on multiple occasions that he doesn’t trust the former UFC Champion, especially in a big situation like the UFC White House Event, due to his history.
On the other hand, despite doing everything, Jones has not succeeded in winning a soft corner in Dana’s heart till now. Now, Jones reveals that although he is a former two-division UFC champ and a GOAT fighter, he will not complain if he does not get a main-event spot on the UFC White House Fight Card.
During his trip to Chechnya (Russia), Jones was asked some questions by his fans through X, a social media platform. When asked about a potential bout at UFC White House with current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Alex Pereira, Jon responded:
“It’s a little bit out of my hands. I’m getting in shape, I’m lean and completely capable of hopping into a training camp. I guess time will tell. Either way, life is good.”
After that, when a fan asked about the possibility of him not getting a headlining spot on the UFC White House Fight Card, Jon made it clear whether he would still be interested in competing at the historic event if he did not get a top spot on the card. Jon replied to this question by saying, “Absolutely”, which showed Jon wanted the place in the UFC White Card badly.
Additionally, the current UFC Bantamweight Champion also revealed his support for Jon Jones getting a UFC spot. The Bantamweight Champion, Merab “The Machine” Dvalishvili, said he planned to fight 4 times in 2026, including a bout in the UFC White House Event in June 2026. The Machine thinks, if given the opportunity to headline the card, the former two-division UFC champion (Jon Jones) would deserve it more: Jon Jones. Merab said:
“That will be a great honour for me, and I will be grateful forever. Even though I’m an American citizen now and the only American champion, I am still Georgian. I think lots of great American fighters want to headline this event. And I think they deserve it more, people like Jon Jones.”
So what Dana has in mind and what his plans are is still unclear, and it’s so hard to guess. He has said that he has been working on it since the event announcement, and any matchup or fight for the card will not be finalised until February 2026. He also revealed it will be the greatest fight card ever assembled in UFC history. So, let’s see what happens!
