Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones announced his retirement earlier this year in June. He turned down $30 million to fight the current UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion, Tom Aspinall. Although Jon is still not interested in fighting with Brit, Tom Aspinall, he reversed his retirement decision weeks later after his retirement when Donald Trump announced the historic UFC White House Event.
Although Jon Jones is very confident about being a part of this event but UFC Boss, Dana White, has some other plans as he does not trust this guy anymore. While asking about Jones being part of the UFC White House Event, Dana responded by saying, “There are billion-to-one odds it will happen.” While former champion Jon Jones is constantly trying to change his mind to be the headline at the UFC White House Event next year.
In the recent attempt, Jones pleaded with Dana White while talking to the Schomo Rinside at the DBX 4 event. When asked about taking part in the prestigious White House event, he replied:
“I really hope it happens. Dana, Bro. Please, Bro. Please. I’m training, I’m feeling great, I’m healthy, and I’d be so honored to represent our country and do what I do best.”
Despite these and other attempts by Bones, Dana is still not ready to make him part of the White House card until now. Moreover, he has confirmed that no match-ups will be decided until February 2026, as it takes a lot of work to assemble such a great card, and it will be the greatest UFC card ever assembled in UFC history.
On the other side, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira has also planned much for the UFC White House Event. After avenging Magomedov Ankalev at UFC 320 and regaining his title, Jon Jones is his ideal contender to fight at UFC White House. Alex said:
“I want a super fight. It would be at the White House, against Jon Jones. That’s a super fight.”
Jones saw this as a great opportunity and accepted his callout. In response to Alex’s Tweet on X, Jon replied, “Alex, I’d be down to bring the highest skill level to the White House. I appreciate the respect you showed. Let’s dance.”
Although Alex Pereira and Jon Jones are ready to fight each other at White House and Jon is trying different ways to be a part of the great event, the final decision will be made by CEO Dana White. Let’s see what happens next!
