Jon Jones Accepts Fighting Alex Pereira at UFC White House Event after Unexpected No-Contest at UFC 321: Aspinall vs. Gane.
The Abu Dhabi UFC Event, UFC 321: Aspinall vs. Gane, has ended unexpectedly. The UFC fans who are excited to look forward to a great heavyweight bout at the event are disappointed after the main event (Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane) was discontinued and declared ‘No Contest’ due to an unintentional eye poke by Bon Gamin (Ciryl Gane). So, the reign of Tom Aspinall as the UFC Heavyweight Champion will continue until the rematch, as his first title defense ended in a no-contest in UFC 321.
It was the first time in UFC history that a UFC match was discontinued due to an accidental foul. Due to this situation and fan disappointment, two of the UFC’s stars called out each other for the UFC heavyweight bout in the aftermath of the UFC heavyweight title bout between Aspinall and Gane. Alex Pereira, who became the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion by defeating Magomed Anklaev in UFC 320, calls out Jon Jones, who was the previous UFC Heavyweight Champion but retired in June.
Although Jon retired, he now wants to return to the octagon, as Donald Trump has announced the great UFC White House Event, scheduled for June 2026. Many UFC stars have shown their interest in being a part of this card, including Jon, but Dana White is not sure, as he is not confident in Jon after he made an unexpected retirement, even after his deal with Dana. On the other side, current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira saw the current situation as an opportunity and called out Jon Jones publicly for a bout at UFC White House. Pereira wrote on Instagram after the main event of UFC 321:
“Let’s make the Heavyweight division great again.”
The former UFC Champion Jon Jones accepted the challenge of Alex Pereira by responding on X:
“Alex, I’d be down to bring the highest skill level to the White House. I appreciate the respect you showed, let’s dance.”
Although both UFC stars have agreed to be part of the great UFC White House Card, the final decision will be made by the UFC Boss, Dana White, who is reluctant about Jon’s return to the Octagon. Moreover, he repeatedly said that any matchups for the UFC White House Card will not be decided until February 2026; however, it will be the greatest UFC card ever assembled.
