Islam Makhachev Accepts Fighting Topuria at UFC White House After His Call Out!
Former UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev accepts fighting Topuria at UFC White House after Topuria’s callout!

Since the announcement of the UFC White House Event by Donald Trump and its confirmation by Dana White in the following month, many UFC stars have shown their keen interest. Even former champs, including Conor McGregor and Jon Jones, have the desire to return to the octagon. Jon Jones, who retired last June, is ready to return to the cage and to be a part of this great event. Other UFC stars who were in the headlines for the UFC White Event recently are Bo Nickal, Illa Topuria, Alex Pereira, and others.
Now the former UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev, joins the club. Current Lightweight Champion, Illa Topuria, called out Islam Makhachev recently and said, “I want to fight Islam Makhachev at the White House.” Islam Makhachev responded that he is open to fighting Ilia Topuria at the White House. While talking to ESPN MMA, Islam said:
“I don’t know who’s gonna be next for Ilia. If you talk about our fight, I have good fights now. I know he’s gonna fight soon. We will see what’s gonna be happening.”
Islam added:
“He wants to fight in White House, and I also want to be there. For the MMA Community, it’s going to be a big fight. People want this fight, and if UFC wants this fight, we can do it… I know UFC wants a big fight at White House. Which fight is going to be bigger than this?”
Although many UFC Fighters are willing to be a part of this greatest UFC card ever assembled, UFC Boss Dana White has yet to start assembling the UFC White House Card. He has also said that there will be no confirmation bout it until February, as he has a lot of work to do on it and it will be the greatest card ever assembled.
Former Champion, Islam Makhachev, is currently preparing for the Welterweight Title Bout against Jack Della Maddalena in UFC 322 on November 15 at Madison Square Garden, New York, United States. At this point, Islam wants nothing more than to be a double UFC champion and understands there will be more fights for him after UFC 322, which could clear his path to UFC White House.
Moreover, fans are also expecting to see Ilia Topuria’s fight before the UFC White House Card. Since both UFC stars understand clearly that Dana and Co. will assemble the greatest card ever, with the biggest matchups for the UFC White House Event, they know they must clear their paths by proving themselves and winning big fights before the UFC White House. While UFC fans are talking about Jon Jones or Alex Pereira being the main event at UFC White House, Makhachev and Topuria are hoping their fight will be at the top of the card.
